My Family Trip To Auckland!

Good afternoon! Today I will be doing a blog post about my family holiday to Auckland, the 6th of January was the first day of our trip. On our way to our destination, we had a clear sight of the Sky Tower from the state highway we were driving from. Here's a photo of the Sky Tower, though the photo is quite blurred.

We stayed at Auckland for about 2 days, and after travelling a few more kilometres, we have finally reached our hotel. So we checked-in and left the hotel to explore the rest of Auckland. Unfortunately, we didn't visit the Sky Tower since we already visited the tower twice, though we did go to a few outlets, malls and parks while we spent our time in the city. It was a very long a tiring day and we decided to visit the park called "Parnell Rose Gardens" which had a huge variety of roses, here are some photos I took, I will be also writing in the names of the roses (names will be below the photo).

For this rose I didn't have to correct name but this was also known as "Garden rose", a rose species that is grown as an ornament plant in private/public parks. Also a very popular kind of rose

"Star Quality"

"Bush Rose"

"Rock n' Roll"

"Burgundy Iceberg"

There was also a garden named Dove Myer Robinson Park which was after this rose garden, the walk was about 10 minutes, while we were walking in the garden we came across this plant which was called "Monstera", here's a picture of the plant

Though the walk ended shortly after, and behind the park was a bay called "Judges Bay Parnell", but I didnt have any photos of the bay. But furthermore, I had a memorable journey and it was amazing to explore the places of Auckland that we haven't yet to discover.

Baby Riam's Christening/Baptismal

Kia Ora! Yesterday, the 20th of December, a baby was baptised in St. Mary's Star of the Sea, our school church. He is a younger sibling to one of the students from the school I attend in, St. Mary's, his name is Riam and he is currently 4 months old.

It was lovely to be there to participate in the mass/baptismal, gathering with friends and family. Though there were only a few, It was great getting to see the baby baptised and being with friends! After a short mass the people who went to the baptismal were welcomed in the family's home to have a meal. There was a ton of food, and there were different varieties of food. Here are a few photos of friends and family in the church after the mass. See you soon and Happy Holidays!

How to say "Merry Christmas" in 5 languages

Yesterday for CyberSmart we tried to find ways of how to say "Merry Christmas" in 5 languages, using the help of a video. We also had to wrote in what kind of language it was and how it was spelt in that language. We also had the option of using voice search to search how to say "Merry Christmas" in our languages of choice. We voice searched as well questions we could ask google, these voice searching questions will be in the 5th and 6th slides.

For the GIF we created a Christmas GIF with using our own plan/design, I decided to create a white christmas tree later on having a assorted blinking-like effect, then having a effect with gifts under the tree.

My T4 Goal Reflections

Today for Inquiry we have created our "Term 4 Goal Reflections" and our new goals for the coming year. Here as you can see in the top left box we have our favourite highlights of our learning for this year, and in the top right what we are mostly proud of achieving this year. And in the bottom left a 2021 goal for myself and a photo of ourselves in the bottom right.

We also did these goal reflections last term and other terms awhile back, though looking back at it I had different highlights and goals.. Here's my Term 4 Goal Reflection :

Seeking Help

Kia Ora! Today for our CyberSmart lesson we were learning about dealing with dangerous/awful situations with trolls or haters, and keeping game fun and friendly, and seeking help. The instructions we learnt on how to handle these situations are :
1 . To ignore trolls or haters
2. Delete, block, or unfollow
3. Take a screenshot as a clear evidence incase things escalate
4. And most importantly, report these acts that are violating the guidelines/rules.

Next up each of us created a Google Drawing with the steps wrote in a flowchart, with our faces in a picture frame placed in the bottom right corner and our names written in. Here's my one :

What is Media?

For our CyberSmart lesson we were learning about what media is, and what are a few examples you could think of after watching a information video about media itself and what it appears to be in the real world.
Some examples of media are; newspapers, radio, adverts, television, film and cinema etc.

For our task we had to find/take a photo of ourselves and use the "Remove Background" site (Link : https://www.remove.bg/) and replace the original background with a suitable background photo with our portrait to make it look like we are out of school. This can be also be kinda like an example for fake photoshopped photos that people post in socials to frame/or manipulate people into thinking a photo or video is real

Here's mine (very end of slides presentation) :

My Kapa Haka Diamante Poem

For our writing subject we are focusing on exploring "Using Different Language Features" using verbs (doing words), adjectives (words describing nouns), and lastly, nouns (words that name places, people etc.) For this we created a draft of a "Diamante Poem" on paper, after we opened a slide and wrote in words we could think of for our theme "Kapa Haka Festival"

Using google photos folder, we chose a Kapa Haka photo of our choice.

Here's mine :
