In Week 6, according to my post last week, it was Sea Week! Our class created a presentation about information you have to know about our chosen marine animal! For it, I chose a Sperm Whale, if you haven't seen my previous post. Please do check it out! I will give a link to my Sea Week presentation. Anyway, we created an art of a whale using dye, this art was inspired by an artist named Michelle Fleur, who draws thousands and thousands kinds of whales using watercolour/dye!
Moving on to how we created our art, we started to experiment with using dye on scrap paper. Next, we created a sketch of the real art and used a model of a real whale to guide us. After, we used dye to colour the creature, and for finishing touches.. we used white paint to draw the 'rorqual', or the lines under the whale starting from its throat and to its stomach.
Here's my whale art. Thank you for visiting my blog!
